Thanks so much Locusta- good point. Yes, I added/changed those elements— following the directions in the user interface— I think I put them in the right order :p I don’t see them anywhere else in the file, but I’ll check to be sure— and also, I may try checking other files and see if there’s a conflict somewhere.

Yeah, nothing from the WP forums either. WP-MU works, with a bit of .htaccess magic. I had a bit of help from Michael in the meantime. There’s a piece of javascript that’s the culprit, but we’re not sure why. We removed it as a temporary fix so I can live with it for now. I’m guessing the plugin just doesn’t mix well with my setup. Oh well.

Alright thanks. Alternatively I found a ghetto way around it by making a strip of gradient repeat horizontally. The effect is about the same as what I want it to do. But yeah I'm sort of making my own theme. I'm using inkblot as a base just adding a few new features but it's mostly just a visual upgrade.

Also is there a way that in the comic navigation I can add an archive dropdown menu for the comic? I want to remove the "Random" Link and put in an archive drop down menu for the comic. I have multiple comics on the site so I'm not sure exactly how I can work that out.

I don't think Webcomic 3 specifically works with multisite, but I don't think it specifically doesn't either. I haven't tried it myself.

I was under the impression that you couldn't use WP-MU unless it was installed on the root domain. Maybe someone else would know for sure. Have you checked on the Wordpress.org forum in case it's a WP issue?

Are you building your own theme? If you don’t want to use the custom background code, you can probably safely comment it out. Alternatively, you can just use CSS to prevent it from displaying with “display: none;”.

Do you have a link to your site? That might help narrow down where the problem lays.

Have you checked to see if your comics were "orphaned"? When I switched over, our pages because disconnected from their posts and I have to reconnect them all. I had had trouble moving my comic files as well, and I think that caused the detachment issue.

As an example of how my files look: My comic pages are all loose in webcomic/comic-1 and then the thumbnails are all loose in webcomic/comic-1/thumbs. The thumbs I generated after I got all the orphans reattached.

I'm not sure I can help with the custom theme, if that's part of the issue, but you could try comparing your theme against the Inkblot 3 theme and pull the new template tags from that.

Are you trying to change the pixel widths on the following elements? .content-main .sidebar-one .sidebar-two

Also, if these are showing up multiple times in your CSS file, the old one could be overriding your new files.

Yeah, I saw that. I find that whole guide to be extremely vague. Like maybe it could explain what exactly these widgets do? I just want my site to work you know? Like I uploaded dozens of comics and now they are gone. My whole page is laid out like a blog now, and any old comic you click on just returns to the home page. It's basically busted to shit, and my whole layout is toast.

I knew I should have just designed my own website from scratch.

OK I found out what the problem is— I used caps naming my directories and so I have a renaming chore to do that’s complicated by the fact that changing the caps to lower case is not allowed, I have to rename the folders with teh caps and then create a new folder with the lower case name and move the files. wheee.
